Dear Tony and ielts community 20,
when i though of joining an ielts course, i was a little bit hesitant,i said to my self; Alek, your English is good ,you do not need to join an ielts course, but now after i finished the first week, i realised how much i overstmated my knowledge of English language skills that i need to achieve band 7.0 and above,
felows; we need to learn alot in order to achieve the results we need,
so march march ielts community 20 soldiers..........
all the best to all
Alek
Dear Alek
Yes, very true words, my dear! IELTS is very challenging, but it is a monster that can be faced if you marshal ALL your resources and maximise your potential.
At last I have a reaction. This group needs leaders to drive the weblog. So, who better than a strong woman such as Alek?
Come on everyone, let's march together!
Captain Tony
PS Good to see more people joining the blog, we need CONTRIBUTIONS, especially some posts. Now you need to show your initiative and courage under fire!
PPS OK, no more military allusions for the time being!
Dear Ieltscommunity20
I expected a reply from this group expressing their worries about the difficulties they are going to face to achieve band 7!
I know Tony is pushing you hard but you know guys you need a wake up push to alter your habits and overcome your difficulties. One valuable advice from the previous batch : Please do not choose early date for your IELTS exam. Give some time to digest your information and do your practices to overcome your weaknesses. I still wish that I scored 4 "7"s but I was able to achieve 3 our of 4, I wish you all good luck and be brave.
For Writing: please use the writefix.com it is a very helpful tool and will help you to achieve your band 7 in writing. Regards from Maha
Excellent advice, dear Maha! Thank you!
Alas, it is not an ideal world. Some of the latest pilgrims are doing the IELTS IMMEDIATELY after the course ends on 25 June! Ah such is life! I agree, the ideal (?) period is TWO WEEKS between finishing the course and doing IELTS. Regretably, the course dates and students' plans do not always go hand-in-hand.
Let's see how it pans out.
I echo your endorsement of www.writefix.com
All the best
Tony
By the way, four straight 7.0s is an extremely rare achievement!
