Summer in the city...

Welcome, welcome, welcome to another month, another IELTS preparation course and a new weblog with a fresh group of IELTS hopefuls!

It's hot, we're feeling the heat - literally and metaphorically. Your IELTS is on the horizon and lots of doubts start kicking in. Why didn't I start my build-up to this infernal exam months ago?

Ah well, help is at hand, IELTS veterans from previous courses will be reading this post, they might well join the weblog and help YOU, ieltscommunity20 in your quest for the glittering IELTS prizes.

Anyone who can't wait till next week, please comment below and I shall invite you to join this weblog.

Bye for now

Mind the sun!

Tony

My pleasure, Ahmed!

They not only have to JOIN the weblog, but CONTRIBUTE as well. Otherwise, it is a futile exercise.

Thank you for your kind words and appreciative comments regarding last month's class.

See you on the blog, if not in the Learning Zone!

Regards

Tony

Dear Captin Tony,

I have posted my comment on ieltscommunity19, meanwhile when I tried to join this 'Blog', a message alerted me that I have to get a new invitation as the one you had sent was expired.

No football games this week? are you a fan of Ruggby?

Hi Tony,
Hi everyone,
Good luck for the new cohort, they are lucky to join your class, as we were, I wish them full success in their fighting task. My first advice to them do not waste time and join this blog early tomorrow morning or tonight if you have internet in your home. I would like to thanks Tony for his valuable efforts during our ieletscommunity 19.
bye for now

It's looking good!

The new course hasn't even started officially and we have four allies already [Blogmember is my 'alter ego'].

Excellent news, ladies and gentlemen. It gives me great heart that in the coming three hectic weeks, and similarly in July, I can back on your interest and support.

Ieltscommunity20 is fortunate indeed to have your interest and support.

Many thanks

Tony

The Captain will be issuing orders to fasten seatbelts and prepare for take-off in 25 hours' time!

Oh, to answer Firas' earlier question: football is my passion. I played both football AND rugby when I was at grammar school in Watford, UK (my home town) and at university in Durham (a beautiful cathedral city in NE England).

My playing days are now over, alas. I occasionally watch rugby, but prefer football. Now it is the cricket season - another ball game entirely! However, I will be home in August and should be able to take in some home games at my local club - Watford FC, as they try to bounce back into the Premiership.

In other words, I am at a loose end until the new football season starts, but hope that Real Madrid win La Ligua in Spain. So, it'll be hard to catch me round the Club in the next seven weeks before I go on leave. Mind you, I have visitors - a sister from Australia, two daughters and various friends. So I shall look out for you, Firas, most likely at weekends...

Regards

Tony

salam everybody,

I would like to thank you captain Tony for your kind invitation, and I will try to contribute as much as I can.

I wonder Mr. Tony if you can provide me with some helpful readable resources to elevate my English language level other than AL KHALEEJ TIMES whether novels, books or any kind of magazines.

Now for brother AHMED no words can express my gratitude, but now as I told Mr. Tony I will try to submit my application with the achieved scores, if no progress made then I will contact you for the CD & TAPES.

REGARDS.

Niketh the night owl!

There's initiative for you!

Small point - this is a forum for formal English so no 'textspeak' / MSN chat / emailspeak! That means correct spelling and punctuation. It will help you in IELTS writing to pay attention to form and presentation.

See you later [ NOT 'cu l8r' ]
